EMCL recently completed a design assist tenant fit-out for the Arion Laser Clinic. The Scope of work included but was not limited to layout of the HVAC air distribution and exhaust system, plumbing for service sinks, and fire sprinkler protection.
Edwards Mechanical was proud to be an integral team member in the remodeling and upgrading of three floors of core washrooms. This fast-paced project involved completely removing all mechanical services, reconfiguring the layout and installing current water and energy efficient fixtures, flush valves and faucets. One of the progressive steps was to install water less urinals, to help reduce water consumption. In addition, Self-powered hydroelectric flush valves were installed which reduces maintenance costs. The newly created Café & Wine bar project presented many challenges such as noise restrictions, high traffic and visibility, structural challenges and extreme heights such as the drainage work in the exhibit halls below. Our collective team addressed these challenges head on brining innovative solutions in the execution of each respective work package. The scope of work included HVAC upgrades, Controls, and Plumbing.
We were honoured to have participated on the creation of this unique space in the heart of Downtown Vancouver, that will be enjoyed by many patrons for years to come.
EMCL and its subcontractors recently completed an upgrade of the Fire Fighters dormitories, which included upgrades and modifications to the ventilation systems, addition of a washroom/shower and upgrades to some of the existing services in an operating facility. This project was an eye opener for our crews as to just how busy and dedicated these first responders are due to the frequency and the nature of the calls. We want to thank each first responder for their commitment and dedication to helping serve the community.
The Pearson Professional Center test center in Burnaby was a complete fit-out over eight weeks. The scope of work consisted of supply and installation of five new Split A/C units and VAV boxes, ductwork, controls, plumbing for kitchen server, and modifications to the perimeter hot water heating. Through the effort of Govan Brown, our subcontractors and crew we collectively brought this project in on schedule.
Edwards Mechanical recently completed the mechanical fit out of the new Chemical & Biological lab. at UBC. This project was predominantly mechanical focused and was substantially completed in six weeks. The finished lab contained work benches which housed twenty cup sinks, sixty-six turrets which was comprised of natural gas, compressed air, and vacuum benchtop turrets. Also, there was a kitchen sink, emergency shower & eyewash, sprinkler modifications to increase the density for the new hazard classification, and sheet metal modifications. The vacuum system was a completely new installation complete with vacuum pump, where as the compressed air and natural gas systems were fed from existing building services. updates on these high profile projects.
